Atitlán Conecta is an independent directory of the 14 towns of Lake Atitlán, run by the Atitlán Conecta Team. We are not a government entity. This notice explains what data we use, what for, and how you can ask us to correct or delete it.
What data we use
Business data: name, category, phone, address, hours, social media and description. It comes from public sources, from field visits with the permission of the person in charge, or from the owner.
Your account: your email and, if you wish, a public name. You sign in with a link sent to your email; we don't store passwords.
What you send through forms: suggestions, sign-ups, listing claims, events and reports.
Reviews: stars, text, tags, date and whether you scanned the venue's QR code.
Technical data: Cloudflare Turnstile analyzes browser signals to tell people apart from bots, and our hosting provider records IP addresses in its server logs. We don't use advertising cookies or third-party trackers.
What we use it for
To publish and maintain the directory, check that the data is correct, and moderate what is submitted.
To send listing owners their welcome kit and notices about their listing.
To send you promotions only if you agreed to them separately. You can unsubscribe at any time.
What is shown publicly
Business data. For public institutions, only name, phone and address.
Reviews, with a short name (for example, «María G.»). Your email is never published.
Who it is shared with
We don't sell data. We use providers that process it on our behalf: Supabase (database and accounts), Vercel (hosting), Cloudflare (anti-bot verification), Resend (email) and OpenFreeMap with OpenStreetMap data (maps, which your browser downloads directly).
How long we keep it
Listing data, for as long as the business is active in the directory. Your account, until you ask us to delete it. We keep a history of changes and moderation decisions so we can explain why a piece of data changed.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, withdraw your consent to promotions, or ask us to remove a photo. If you own a business, you can claim your listing and edit it from your dashboard.

Minors
Accounts and reviews are for adults only.
Changes to this notice
If we change it, we update the date above. If the change is significant, we announce it on the site.
